Southeast Technical Institute was first founded in 1965. The current campus is owned by the Sioux Falls School District and is approximately 168 acres in size. The student body is approximately 3000 and continues to grow. STI’s campus currently contains 7 major building areas to include on Campus Housing.
The security contract provides for two Security Officers and they are responsible to the Patrol Division Commander or his/her designee. The STI Security Officer performs security work and maintains order within the Southeast Technical School and Campus. Duties may include security and resource protection; critical incident planning; suppression of disorder; arrest of law violators; prevention of vandalism and theft; searches of persons and property with jurisdictional limitations; and other duties as assigned.
