At Safe Home, we run an incentive program that allows residents to earn tickets by completing chores and participating in group activities. These tickets can then be used to "purchase" small items as rewards. This system has become a meaningful motivator and has grown in popularity — so much so that it now exceeds what we can sustain. through donations alone. We’re currently seeking donations of the most popular items. Many of these can be found at Dollar Tree or similar stores, making it easy and affordable to support. The ticket program is a system designed to help change behaviors related to alcohol use through rewards and consequences. It encourages people to attend certain activities by offering incentives for positive actions. For example, residents can participate in various weekly group sessions over four weeks that may cover topics like reducing harm, discussing current events, engaging in special activities, exercising, or exploring arts and crafts. By consistently attending these sessions and completing the associated positive behaviors, participants can earn rewards. This approach aims to encourage healthier choices and gradually shift behavior in a positive direction over time.
